Jacques Vallee
Jacques Vallée is a French-American computer scientist, astronomer, and prominent UFO researcher whose work has significantly influenced the study of unidentified aerial phenomena. A former colleague of Dr. J. Allen Hynek, Vallée has authored numerous books and papers examining UFO cases, anomalous phenomena, and the intersection of science and the paranormal.

Canadian Air Force 1953 UFO Case
Vallée summarized and reported on the Canadian Air Force 1953 UFO sighting and its photographic evidence, contributing to the documentation of early military UFO encounters.
Aerospace Corporation Connection
In his book Hidden Science 5, which documents his journals from the 2000s to 2009, Vallée — alongside Kit Green, Hal Puthoff, Eric Davis, and Kristen B. Zimmerman — identified Aerospace Corporation in Long Beach, California as one of the suspected legacy private corporations engaged in "real UAP research." This research group's analysis aligns with claims made by Bob Fish and Ross Coulthart regarding the Aerospace Corporation's involvement with Defense Support Program (DSP) data analysis and possible access to recovered UAP materials.
Battelle Identification on Joe Rogan Experience
On December 4, 2020, during Joe Rogan Experience episode #1574 alongside documentary filmmaker James Fox, Vallée referenced a private contractor that helps control the UFO phenomenon through intelligence agencies and holds recovered UFO materials. Vallée stated he was unwilling to name the organization. Fox then indirectly identified the organization by referencing its involvement with the January 1953 Robertson Panel — a pointer consistent specifically with Battelle Memorial Institute, which was the contractor running the parallel Project Stork investigation at the time. UAP Gerb cited this episode (beginning approximately one hour and forty-two minutes in) as corroboration of the Battelle material recovery hypothesis.
USO and Norton Air Force Base (1985)
In his journal collection Forbidden Science: Pacific Heights, Vallée records a 1985 claim from a source at NARCAT (the National Aviation Reporting Center on Anomalous Phenomena) that a large collection of UFO and USO files were being stored at Norton Air Force Base. This reference places USO file storage at Norton alongside other UAP material that has been associated with the facility by other researchers, including Steven Greer in his alleged 1996 congressional briefing.
UFO Chronicles of the Soviet Union
Vallée's book UFO Chronicles of the Soviet Union: A Cosmic Samizdat documents Soviet UFO and USO cases, including material on the Soviet Submarine Repair Ship Vulga Sighting of October 7, 1977. The book is cited as a source for the aftermath of that case — specifically pages 29–30 — which describe Fleet Admiral Nikolai Smirnov's mandatory UFO reporting directive for Soviet hydrographic and reconnaissance ships, authorized by naval officer and researcher Vladimir Azhazha. The term "cosmic samizdat" in the subtitle is a reference to the Soviet underground self-publishing tradition (samizdat), positioning Soviet UFO research as inherently dissident activity under a state apparatus that suppressed the subject. UAP Gerb cites this work alongside Russia's USO Secrets by Paul Stonehill and Philip Mantle as the primary Western documentary sources for Soviet USO cases.
