Chris Carter
Chris Carter is an American television writer, director, and producer best known as the creator of The X-Files (1993–2018). In UAP research, Carter is notable for having contracted forensic illustrator Bill McDonald's Tehachapi Triangle design — an illustration of the XF-131 Super Sentinel based on testimony from real Northrop Grumman and Lockheed Martin engineers — for use in the first regular season episode of The X-Files, titled "Deep Throat." Fox Network produced a computer render of McDonald's vehicle for the episode.

Rumors persist that Carter was approached by unnamed military brass who asked how he knew so much about the subjects depicted in the show, though no credible source for this claim has been identified. FBI veteran John Dusza separately confirmed that the first season of The X-Files was based on true cases he investigated.
