Benito Mussolini
Benito Amilcare Andrea Mussolini (1883–1945) was an Italian dictator who served as Prime Minister of Italy from 1922 to 1943 and founded Italian Fascism. Known as "Il Duce" (The Leader), Mussolini established a totalitarian state characterized by aggressive nationalism, militarism, and strict control over press and information. Role in 1933 Magenta UFO Retrieval
Following the alleged crash or landing of an unknown craft near Magenta, Italy in June 1933, Mussolini personally headed a top-secret scientific group called the RS-33 (Gabinetto RS 33) established to examine the recovered bell-shaped object. According to original Italian government documents provided to researcher Roberto Pinotti, Mussolini initially believed the approximately 10-meter diameter craft to be an unconventional flying vehicle of terrestrial origin from France, Britain, or Germany — not an extraterrestrial craft.
This interpretation was reportedly contested by Guglielmo Marconi, the Nobel Prize-winning inventor of radio technology and possible RS-33 member, who believed the craft to be of non-human origin. Mussolini's government imposed absolute press silence through the state propaganda agency Agenzia Stefani, ordering journalists to report the craft as a meteor and threatening maximum penalties including appeals to the State Security Court for violators.
The craft remained in Italian possession throughout the fascist regime, allegedly stored first at the SIAI-Marchetti Aircraft Company hangars in Varese, Italy and later at Mussolini's enormous bunker under Mount Soratte. According to journalist Christopher Sharp's reporting and whistleblower David Grusch's testimony, Mussolini confided information about the craft to Pope Pius XII, who subsequently back-channeled intelligence to the United States. The craft was recovered by U.S. Office of Strategic Services (OSS) agents in 1944 or 1945 following the collapse of the fascist state.
Authentication
Luis Elizondo stated in interviews that he personally viewed validated documentation from Mussolini himself relating to the craft recovery, describing it as "authentic" and "proven to be authentic."
