David Fravor

Commander David Fravor (USN, Ret.) is a retired United States Navy fighter pilot best known as the primary eyewitness to the November 2004 Nimitz Tic Tac UAP encounter off the coast of Southern California. Fravor, then commanding officer of VFA-41 (the "Black Aces"), was vectored to intercept an anomalous aerial object that had been tracked for several days by the USS Princeton's SPY-1 radar system. His subsequent encounter with a white, oblong "Tic Tac"-shaped craft exhibiting extraordinary flight characteristics — including instantaneous acceleration, trans-medium capability, and apparent anticipation of his flight path — became the most widely publicized military UAP encounter in modern history.

Nimitz Encounter and ARV Theories

Fravor's account of the Tic Tac's performance — no visible propulsion, no flight control surfaces, hypersonic acceleration from a hover — matches the general characteristics attributed to alien reproduction vehicles. Investigative journalist Ross Coulthart has reported claims that the Tic Tac originated from Lockheed Martin Skunk Works, a claim also echoed by Steven Greer. UAP Gerb notes that in the context of the Castle video, the Nimitz encounter occurred within the same Southern California military operating area network (the R2508 Complex and adjacent Warning Areas) where TR-3B-type vehicles have been reported.

USO Dimension of the Tic Tac Encounter

UAP Gerb's video on USO history cites Fravor's 2004 Tic Tac encounter as significant not only for the aerial UAP itself but for evidence of a submerged counterpart. During the encounter, the Tic Tac was observed hovering above churning ocean water, which pilots interpreted as potentially indicating a larger submerged object disturbing the surface from below. Rear Admiral Timothy Gallaudet cites this detail in his 2024 white paper Beneath the Surface as evidence that the Tic Tac encounter was simultaneously a USO encounter, not merely an aerial one.
