Frank Borman
Frank Borman (1928–2023) was a U.S. Air Force officer and NASA astronaut who commanded the Apollo 8 mission in December 1968 — the first crewed spacecraft to orbit the Moon. He previously flew on the Gemini 7 mission in December 1965. Borman appears in UAP research in two distinct contexts: a "bogey" report he made during Gemini 7, and allegations that he filmed six UFOs descending onto the lunar surface during Apollo 8.

Gemini 7 Bogey Report (1965)
During the Gemini 7 mission in December 1965, Borman reported observing a "bogey" — the standard military aviation term for an unidentified contact. The incident received media attention as a possible UFO sighting. Borman himself attributed the object to the rocket's own spent booster stage, a prosaic explanation that he consistently maintained. UAP research has noted the incident as an example of how astronaut sightings in low Earth orbit are often quickly attributed to known hardware.
Apollo 8 UFO Film Allegation (1968)
An anonymous witness listed as number 101179 in Steven Greer's Disclosure Project archives claimed to have seen an uncut NASA film depicting six UFOs descending onto the lunar surface, allegedly taken by Borman during the Apollo 8 mission. UAP Gerb identified this witness as Elaine Boder, at that time president of the French national aeronautical and astronautical Association UAP division (3af-p).
Separately, Harland Bentley claimed to have overheard Houston Mission Control and the Apollo 8 crew discussing a saucer-like craft paralleling their trajectory during the mission, with visible portals and movement suggesting occupants. UAP Gerb treats the Bentley and Boder claims as parallel but unverified and apparently unconnected threads. No authenticated film of the alleged encounter has surfaced, and UAP Gerb was unable to find any independent documentation of the incident as of the time of the video's production.
