Alan MacGregor Cranston (1914–2000) was a Democratic US Senator from California who served four terms from 1969 to 1993. He served as Senate Majority Whip from 1977 to 1991 and was a prominent figure in American liberal politics. Cranston was confirmed by Brad Sorenson to have been present at the November 1988 classified aerospace exhibit at Air Force Plant 42 in Palmdale, California, at which three disc-shaped Alien Reproduction Vehicles were allegedly displayed alongside advanced conventional military aircraft.

Presence at the 1988 ARV Exhibit

In his December 3, 1990 interview with William B. Scott of Aviation Week and Space Technology, Sorenson specifically confirmed Cranston's presence among the approximately 30 senior individuals assembled for the private aerospace briefing. Also confirmed present was Congressman George E. Brown Jr., who at the time served as chairman of the Congressional Committee on Space Science and Advanced Technology. The event was styled as an investor briefing designed to attract black budget appropriations for classified aerospace development programs, making the presence of senior legislators significant.
