The caucus represents bipartisan interest in UAP transparency and oversight of alleged legacy programs.

Role in Bolivia UFO Crash Investigation

The UAP Caucus brought the 1978 Bolivia UFO crash to public attention, citing it as one of several historical crash retrieval events worthy of Congressional investigation. The Bolivia incident, in which thousands of witnesses observed a cylindrical object crash into a mountainside near El Taire, Bolivia, involved US Air Force personnel and Project Moondust, the classified crash retrieval program. Documents obtained through FOIA show Secretary of State Cyrus Vance contacted "appropriate government agencies" — later confirmed to be Moon Dust — regarding the crash. The UAP Caucus has highlighted this case as documentary evidence of US government involvement in foreign UFO crash retrieval operations.

Legislative Initiatives

The UAP Caucus has supported and promoted legislative efforts to mandate UAP disclosure, including backing provisions in the National Defense Authorization Act (NDAA) that would require declassification of UAP-related records and establish mechanisms for whistleblower protection.

The caucus has worked to amplify testimony from UAP whistleblowers such as David Grusch and coordinate Congressional hearings that bring UAP evidence into the official record.

Agenda and Objectives

The UAP Caucus operates with the following stated objectives:

  • Mandate transparency and declassification of historical UAP programs
  • Investigate alleged crash retrieval and reverse engineering operations
  • Provide Congressional oversight of UAP-related Special Access Programs
  • Protect UAP whistleblowers from retaliation
  • Bring credible UAP incidents (including historical crashes such as Bolivia, Roswell, and others) into formal Congressional inquiry
