Defense Advanced Research Center (DARS)

The Defense Advanced Research Center (DARC) — not to be confused with DARPA (Defense Advanced Research Projects Agency) — is an alleged clandestine underground facility located between Area 51 Groom Lake and the Nevada Test Site. According to Edgar Fouché, the DARC was a minimum 10-story underground installation where he worked in 1979 with advanced digital technologies and gained knowledge of human-made reverse-engineered craft.

The DARC's origins can be traced through declassified ARPA documents. A 1973 historical evaluation of ARPA's R&D management noted a Department of Defense directive proposing the transfer of the Army Ballistic Missile Agency into a Defense Advanced Research Center, linking the proposed institution to the Jet Propulsion Laboratory. The Army Ballistic Missile Agency was commanded by Wernher von Braun, the former Nazi V-2 rocket scientist transferred to the US under Operation Paperclip.

Fouché was recruited to Groom Lake and the DARC from his station at Edwards Air Force Base Jet Propulsion Laboratory. According to the transcript, EG&G was involved in the construction and operations of the DARC facility. The center's connection to both the Strategic Defense Initiative (SDI) and UFO legacy programs positions it as a key node in the alleged network of underground facilities used for reverse engineering non-human technology.
