Underground Facility At NSWC Crane

The underground facility at Naval Surface Warfare Center Crane (NSWC Crane) in Indiana is a classified subterranean complex described by firsthand witness RA as being strikingly modern in contrast to the deliberately deteriorated surface buildings of the base. The facility was accessed via an elevator that descended to a noticeably colder environment, where a private contractor guide — likely an employee of SAIC, based on SAIC's dominant contracting presence at Crane — identified the area as the "Off-World Technologies Division." The facility houses, or housed as of approximately 2013–2015, at least two items described as non-human technology.

Physical Description

NSWC Crane's surface campus is characterized by 1970s-era buildings maintained in a deliberately deteriorated or unremarkable condition — consistent with a security strategy of concealment through apparent mundanity. RA described the contrast between surface and underground as dramatic: after surrender of all electronics at a checkpoint and an elevator descent, the environment became noticeably colder, and the interior architecture was described as resembling a modern facility or, in RA's terms, "like a spaceship."

The facility is described as heavily compartmentalized, with multiple security checkpoints between the surface entry point and the viewing area where non-human technology was displayed. The visiting personnel were provided no documentation and no explanation beyond what the contractor guide chose to verbally share.

The Off-World Technologies Division

The contractor guide casually referred to the area as the "off-world technologies division" — a designation that RA and his fellow soldier both described as immediately inducing profound Ontological Shock. Staff informed the soldiers that the items on display interacted selectively with human consciousness, possibly based on DNA or consciousness type, and that some individuals could interact with the technology while others could not.

Two objects were presented for observation:

  • A seamless metallic sphere: Basketball-sized, with no visible manufacturing marks, joints, or welds. The surface appeared almost liquid while remaining clearly metallic — exhibiting the "mother of pearl effect" described independently by Jonathan Weygandt after the 1997 Peru UFO Crash. The sphere appeared to be repelled or floating above its display podium.
  • A gauntlet weapon system: An arm-worn device, identified as a weapon because it had discharged an energy pulse during recovery, injuring a recovery team member. The device projected hieroglyphic-like symbols without any visible projection mechanism. These symbols closely matched descriptions given by attorney Daniel Sheehan of classified Project Blue Book photographs he reviewed at the Library of Congress in 1977 at President Jimmy Carter's direction.

SAIC and NSWC Crane

SAIC (Science Applications International Corporation) holds a dominant contracting position at NSWC Crane, including weapons systems testing, electronic warfare, and classified advanced research contracts. RA identified his guide as likely an SAIC employee based on the contractor's apparent familiarity with the facility and its contents. NSWC Crane itself is responsible for a significant portion of the Navy's conventional weapons stockpile, energetics research, and electronic warfare systems — providing substantial legitimate cover for classified programs operating on-site.
