Nevada National Security Site (Nevada Test Site)

The Nevada National Security Site (NNSS), formerly known as the Nevada Test Site, is a US Department of Energy facility covering approximately 1,360 square miles in Nye County, Nevada, approximately 65 miles northwest of Las Vegas. Originally established in 1951 as the primary US continental nuclear weapons testing location, the site conducted over 900 nuclear tests through 1992. Following the end of nuclear testing, the site transitioned to national security research, subcritical nuclear experiments, emergency response training, and classified government activities managed by the National Nuclear Security Administration. Its remote location, secure perimeter, existing classified infrastructure, and NNSA management make it a logical candidate for sensitive operations requiring both physical security and scientific expertise.

Alleged UAP Involvement

According to anonymous testimony described in a UAP Gerb video, an individual claiming to have served on a 21st-century UFO crash retrieval rapid reaction team alleged that the team was based at the Nevada National Security Site. The witness described being transported by C-130 aircraft to a location called Konis as part of crash retrieval operations, and identified the NNSS as the home station and staging facility for the team. The site's existing infrastructure for handling radiological and exotic materials, its NNSA management, and its geographic proximity to other Nevada-based classified facilities (including Nellis Air Force Base and the Nevada Test and Training Range) are cited by UAP researchers as consistent with its alleged role as a crash retrieval staging facility.
