Raven Rock Complex (Site R)
The Raven Rock Complex, officially designated Site R, is a classified deep underground command facility located beneath Raven Rock Mountain near Blue Ridge Summit, Pennsylvania, approximately 6 miles north of Camp David. Often described as the "Underground Pentagon" or the "Backup Pentagon," the complex was constructed during the Cold War as a continuity-of-government installation and emergency command center for the US military.

Physical Description
The acknowledged portions of Raven Rock include accommodations for approximately 3,000 personnel, with five acknowledged three-story buildings. The facility has its own inbuilt medical and dental clinic, fire department, post office, and extensive communications infrastructure. It was designed to allow the Secretary of Defense and the Joint Chiefs to continue operating even after a nuclear strike on Washington, D.C.
Significance as an Acknowledged DUMB
Raven Rock is cited alongside the Cheyenne Mountain Complex as one of the most prominent examples of a confirmed Deep Underground Military Base (DUMB). Its acknowledged existence establishes the feasibility of self-contained underground military facilities capable of housing thousands of personnel. UAP Gerb uses Raven Rock as part of a series of acknowledged facilities to contextualize the more controversial alleged UAP-focused underground installations.
Eastern DUMB Network Context
Raven Rock is situated near Camp David and the CIA facility Camp Peary, positioning it within what UAP Gerb hypothesizes is an eastern DUMB network connecting classified facilities in the mid-Atlantic and Washington, D.C. region. Together with an alleged Deep Underground Command Center (DUCC) proposed in 1963 for a location 3,500 feet below Washington, D.C., and alleged CIA underground operations below the Pentagon, Raven Rock anchors the eastern cluster of clandestine subterranean facilities in UAP Gerb's analytical framework.
