Metapod UFO Sighting
On September 6, 2015, two Spanish witnesses—Modesto and his companion Mo—observed and filmed a structured crescent-shaped UAP near El Escorial, Madrid, Spain. The sighting produced what is considered one of the clearest close-up videos of an anomalous craft ever recorded, showing a distinctive pod-like object with a metallic reflective back and transparent glass-like front face.

The Observation
The sighting occurred in the mountainous region near El Escorial, in the direction of Las Navas Del Marquez. Modesto, who described himself as somewhat nearsighted but experienced in the countryside, emphasized that he was intimately familiar with the sounds of birds in flight. The observed craft made absolutely no sound during its maneuvers.
The object descended vertically in a controlled manner before moving away horizontally. Mo, characterized by Modesto as having exceptionally sharp eyesight ("can see hairs and quailes in the same way as finding a needle in a hay stack"), reported observing something alive with limbs moving inside the craft through the transparent front face.
Witness Reaction
Modesto's account conveys genuine surprise and conviction. He stated: "what we saw yesterday I sincerely know was not from here...I personally neither believed nor did I believe in UFOs or extraterrestrials it simply seemed like 'nonsense from Uncle Aer and four other idiots.' From that moment on I knew that it wasn't from here, that it wasn't human."
In contrast, Mo appeared less surprised by the encounter, remarking cryptically "here again" after the observation. When pressed about this expression, Mo revealed it was not the first time he had seen the object, and that his deceased father had also observed it in the area. This suggests a pattern of recurring sightings in the El Escorial region possibly spanning decades.
Footage Submission and Publication
The following day, September 7, 2015, Modesto emailed the footage to YouTube channel UFO VNI, requesting strict anonymity and declining to reveal the exact GPS coordinates publicly. UFO VNI published the video shortly thereafter, leading to rapid dissemination across UFO research communities. A Portuguese forum discussed the footage by September 8, and Third Phase of the Sun published a detailed article on September 11, 2015.
